Bluebeam Software Releases Revu 2015

The newest version includes updates for automation, markups and cloud security.

Bluebeam Software, a developer of PDF-based markup, measurement and collaboration solutions, has released Revu 2015. This version has features that allow users to keep complex document sets organized and up-to-date, the company states.

For easier markups, Sketch Tools now enable users to create new shapes and exacting measurements on a calibrated scale, as well as real-time length and angle feedback. Dynamic Tool Set Scaler automatically resizes markups on documents of different scales. The Camera tool also allows embedding of videos into markups.

Automation has been updated with the Batch Slip Sheet functionality. This automates the process of updating complex file sets by having users automatically match new file revisions with corresponding file versions. The Sets tool has also been enhanced for automation and categorization updates.

Enhancements have also been made to Bluebeam Studio, Revu's cloud-based collaboration feature. The feature now has tools to control access to information. Permissions can be sent on a per folder basis and expiration dates can be added for active Studio Sessions.

“To meet the demands of complex projects and condensed timelines, project teams need technology to simplify communication between project stakeholders and remove workflow redundancies,” says Richard Lee, president and CEO, Bluebeam Software President. “Revu 2015 presents and polishes features that make marking up and managing document sets easier with greater markup tool functionality and batch automation, as well as more flexibility with how project information is shared.”
