The demand for software tools for Engineering Simulation* are exploding to support the demand for increased competitiveness and to deal with the rapidly growing complexity of products, processes, and systems. At the same time, we are struggling to keep up with our current demand for experts who are able to use these tools effectively. Since these sophisticated tools are extremely complex and limited to use by highly specialized experts, the actual growth in usage and benefit of these technologies is directly related to the available expertise. This has resulted in an inability to meet the rapidly growing demand for a higher reliance on more realistic virtual Engineering Simulations.

ASSESS Initiative in the News

The first ASSESS Insight Webinar will focus on "Understanding an Engineering Simulation Risk Model."

Generative Design’s automated processes and use of simulation early on drives designs from a performance and manufacturability perspective.

Beyond new technologies such as the cloud and AI, organizations need to adopt best practices to make simulation pervasive throughout the design process.

ASSESS: Analysis, Simulation, and Systems Engineering Software Strategies to enable a significant increase in usage and benefit of these technologies.

Legacy code is slower to move to the GPU; a hybrid strategy is recommended.

The ASSESS Initiative and ASDL have teamed on an invitation-only forum focused on better understanding digital twins.

ASSESS: Analysis, Simulation, and Systems Engineering Software Strategies to enable a significant increase in usage and benefit of these technologies.

Positioning papers will be publicly available from the ASSESS Initiative website.

This strategic collaboration is focused on fostering broader use of “systems thinking”, systems modeling & simulation and detailed simulation of subsystems.

The ASSESS Initiative is planning on publishing Strategic Insight papers related to various themes.
