New Rev-Sim Program Covers Use of AI in Engineering Simulation

Revolution in Simulation, a global engineering simulation industry collaboration and technology alliance, has launched a new learning program dedicated to the new role of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) in engineering simulation and product development. Whether exploring AI/ML, in the early implementation stages, or you wish to fully leverage its advanced capabilities, this new and free program offers a full range of information on this topic. Curriculum is curated by experts, offering best practices, expert guidance, and a community discussion forum to ask questions and share insight, according to Revolution in Simulation.
With information relevant to senior management, middle management, and end-users, the initiative is supported by founding partners including Siemens, Aras, EmpowerOps, and CIMdata. Founding Steering Committee members Justin Hodges (Siemens), Dr. Cenk Feridunoglu (EmpowerOps), Malcolm Panthaki (Aras/Rev-Sim), and Sandeepak Natu (CIMdata) are lending their expertise to curate and shape the material, and to coordinate and manage all the activities of this program.
According to Panthaki, the emergence of AI and ML as a simulation tool is so significant that it warrants a dedicated program and section of the rev-sim.org community site.
“Simulation has long been a product development cornerstone,” Panthaki says. “In recent times, AI and ML technologies have developed exponentially and have become practical tools. AI and ML are starting to have a significant impact on how simulations are conducted, offering enhanced efficiency and insights, and a new way to perform design exploration and synthesis. The Rev-Sim AI/ML Program has been created to be a guidepost in these early, turbulent, uncertain times, as AI/ML finds its rightful place in the pantheon of engineering simulation tools and techniques. We help answer questions such as: Is it real? Where do I begin? Where do I go to learn? What are the learning steps I should take? Who are the experts I can ask about this? Where can I have discussions with my peers exploring the same path? What’s working and what is hype?”
