Manuevo BV, based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, has acquired the assets of the bankrupt Shapeways BV. Shapeways BV was a subsidiary of the American publicly traded Shapeways Holding Inc., which originated in Eindhoven at the Philips LifeStyle Incubator in 2008. Although Shapeways BV was profitable, delivering 16 million products to customers worldwide, it was ushered into the bankruptcy of the American parent organization in early July.

Manuevo was founded by the local management team in collaboration with two former Shapeways co-founders and has raised financing for a restart. Manuevo operates from www.manuevo.com as the brand name and the use of www.shapeways.com are still tied up in the American bankruptcy. Manuevo will mainly focus on business-to-business customers who need small and medium series of 3D-printed and finished products.

“The Eindhoven team has been delivering high-quality parts with personal service for many years, and our customers have missed this service over the past month,” says Jules Witte, formerly plant manager at Shapeways BV and currently chief operating officer of Manuevo. “Supported by the intention of many of our customers to return, we are pleased that we can make a restart; the unanimously positive responses from our regular customers are heartwarming. The team is particularly motivated to show that we can be independently successful.”
