For the second time in a row, CONTACT Software's IoT platform has been awarded “Best Factory Software of the Year.” The Research and Application Center Industry 4.0 named Elements for IoT the winner 2019 in the category “Internet of Things.”

As part of this year's “Factory Software of the Year” competition, the Industry 4.0 Research and Application Center at the Chair of Information Systems, Processes and Systems at the University of Potsdam evaluated providers of software solutions for factories in the Internet of Things, Complete Solution, MES and Virtualization categories.

The open CONTACT Elements for IoT platform was recognized due to its level of interoperability and integration into existing structures.

The jury evaluated the solutions presented according to differently weighted criteria. The concrete customer benefit was decisive with 25%, followed by compliance with standards and interoperability of the solution (19%). Platform suitability was weighted at 18%. Further criteria were investments in research and development as well as in customer communication.

“The competition in the young field of IoT platforms is enormous,” says Stefan Gregorzik, product manager, Elements for IoT at CONTACT Software. “Therefore, this is a huge praise for our team. We are particularly happy about the jury's excellent evaluation of the interoperability of Elements.”
