Concepts NREC reports the latest release of the Agile Engineering Design System v2023.0 software for computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) specialized for turbomachinery.

The new version of this MAX-PAC CAM software delivers new surface milling capabilities to build and mill arbitrary surfaces that are not part of the bladed configuration. MAX-PAC v2023.0 also includes the addition of a Stock Chain Manager, which enables users to easily calculate an operation’s remaining stock and use the stock in other operations and in simulations. These changes allow shops that rely on MAX-PAC to use it for work beyond just the bladed components and minimize the time wasted developing toolpaths in other systems to merge with MAX-PAC.

Concepts NREC has improved all of the CAE codes with a focus on secondary flow paths including seals, swirl breaks and pump-out vanes. Automated optimization is now easier with new improvements to TurboOpt II. Rocket engine designers now have new models for the impacts of secondary flows on performance and thrust as well as the ability to design stages that include inducers and impellers.

“Users who upgrade to v2023.0 will find new capabilities that will make them more efficient and allow them to design and manufacture products that were not possible with earlier software,” says Dr. Peter Weitzman, president of Agile Engineering Software.

Version 2023.0 is available now for active Agile Product Support (APS) members to download. To schedule a live demo or request a trial license email sales@conceptsnrec.com.
